Out of Control:
Hot, Trashy, Man-on-Man Erotica

edited by
Greg Wharton

Praise for Out of Control

"Boasting of containing stories about "love with the wrong man at the wrong time and the wrong place," there's little amiss with this collection of 18 spicy, erotic tales touching on a wide array of fetishistic proclivities.

The collection starts off with Thomas S. Roche's tantalizing tale of gun play ("Joker's Canyon"), followed by a heady, psychedelic trip to a Southern California sex club while on mushrooms by Moses O'Hara ("Hole") and Rusty Canela's inner machinations of a horny stoner ("Shiftless Mind Matter") who finds himself "melting into the sofa." For those with a serious firearm fetish, the conclusion of Stephen Schwartz's "Unsafe Sex" doesn't disappoint, and neither does Matt Stedmann's "Blackout Leather Jacket," where a black overcoat has intoxicating effects, even for the story's drag queens, during Gay Pride Weekend in New York City.

Veteran scribes also contribute impressive material to this volume: San Francisco-based Patrick Califia, whose raw, strangely compassionate "Tamping the Dirt Down" relates the angry connection between two abused brothers who eroticize their father's sexual abuse; M. Christian's darkly violent "Blue Boy;" and Trebor Healey's sharp and humorous "Pancake Circus," where a premature-ejaculating narrator finds sensual pleasure with a waiter in a Sacramento pancake house. The volume climaxes with Wayne Courtois' highly-charged tickling fantasy "Ten Apologies," a lengthy entry with erotic coach-jock overtones.

All of the entries excel at conveying the importance and vitality of sensory imaging. Whether it be the sight of a taut lower-back peeking out of a T-shirt, a veiny, tattooed forearm, a monster bodybuilder "all bluff and steam," the "wave-swell" of hairy pecs, or the tang of "fear-sweat," the smells and tastes of each story seemingly jump off the page, to great effect. Definitely not for the faint of heart, this collection provides some ecstatically sexual highs and lows and is perfect for erotic-fiction fans and "one-handed" readers whose kinky, latent fetishes are in need a jump-start."

"Nasty! This collection of stories by 18 writers, edited by Greg Wharton, is a kaleidoscope of obsessive sex, kinky fetishes, lusty vengeance and other topics that will make you hide this book under the coffee table. Moses O'Hara captures the feeling of disappearing in a psychedelic, surreal night at a bathhouse in "Hole." Thomas S. Roche looks at all the booze, guns, macho talk, secrets and hazy memory it takes for a redneck to enjoy a male-on-male blowjob in "Joker's Canyon." Patrick Califia strays into dicey territory with the angry and erotic connection between two abused brothers. In Wayne Courtois' long story "Ten Apologies," there are twisted erotic memories, S/M dynamics and the pain and pleasure of tickle torture. Simon Sheppard's "Drunk Stupid Blond" gets nasty with the kind of sex you'd rather not remember the next day. And despite what the movies and Dennis Cooper tell you, no hustler should have as bad a night as the one in Mel Smith's "Hurts Like Hell." You get the idea. Because of the title, you expect these stories to be pretty wild. But they're actually a full step beyond that. Proceed with caution."

—Jerry Roscoe, Mandate

"Dive deep into the recesses of human desire with Out of Control: Hot, Trashy, Man-on-Man Erotica, the pulse-pounding new anthology from Suspect Thoughts Press. Eighteen intense, wet dream-inducing stories sizzle with a sensuality that burns from each page, bringing alive wild flights of forbidden love ("Joker's Canyon" by Thomas S. Roche) and unbridled ecstasy ("Hole" by Moses O'Hara). Editor Greg Wharton (Johnny Was & Other Tall Tales) gives his readers a vast variety of pleasure-filled fantasies, ranging in style from the futuristic Sci-Fi of "Identities" by Cary Michael Bass and M. Christian's "Blue Boy," to more message-driven entries like "Blackout Leather Jacket" by Matt Stedman and Steven Schwartz' "Unsafe Sex."

Though the works found in Out of Control might well be considered disturbing some are more extreme than others. Where "The Pancake Circus" by Treabor Healey (Through it Came Bright Colors) gives insight into a pedophile's psyche, Patrick Califia's "Tamping the Dirt Down" illuminates the effects of incestuous abuse. And whether you're tastes fall to good-old-boys ("Raspberry Moonshine" by Jeff Mann) or full-on fetish play ("Ten Apologies" by Wayne Courtois) Greg Wharton ensures there's a little something for every reader."
